These are my top five MUST HAVES that got me by from newborn till 6 months...
Carter's blankets....love these things! They are perfect for swaddling and get softer and softer each time you wash them. My little guy loved being swaddled in these things.
Oh MAM how I love you! These are the MAM pacifiers and he just LOVES THEM. We call him "Binky Baby" because he just loves his binks. He can't get enough of them. I am perfectly fine with it, some moms don't want their babies to have binks, but this mom is all for them! :)
The video monitor is a must! As a neurotic new mom I could now be neurotic when my baby slept and when I was supposed to be sleeping too. I could (and still do) just stare at it to make sure everything is ok in his room. You know... make sure he is still breathing, that no one snuck in his room while all the doors are locked and the alarm is on and stole my baby, he didn't somehow become a magician and get out of his crib, you know the usual stuff (I told you I was neurotic). I might keep the monitor in his room until he is 18...you know...just to make sure he is still breathing.
The white noise sound machine....ahhhh. This baby is soothing and will put this mama to sleep. He loves the noise and is perfect when the tv is loud or if we have company over. It drowns out all the nosie and he can stay asleep.
Now, this is a given I know but I had to put it on here. The swing is AAAMMMMAAAZZZING! He slept, played, and just relaxed in it up until about 5 months. I am so sad to see it have to leave but he has out grown it (tear).

Great list!!! Perfect timing for me too! We are going to start registering tomorrow and since this is our first baby, I have no idea where to get started! I will take your list with me! Definitely a huge help!

Rock N Play Sleeper (loved this for the side of my bed)
Aden & Anais Swaddle Blankets (my babes used these the first 3 months)
Kiddopotamus Snuzzler (this was a life saver for me...used in her swing, car seat and in her rock n play..I should of had two. It's now in her convertible car seat)
Miracle Blanket (started using this when she was breaking out of the Aden & Anais blankets)
Puj Tub (I don't know what I would have done without this tub perfect for the sink)
