Dreamy Shower: What are you craving?

I love this idea for a shower!
Every woman who has been pregnant can relate and appreciate this shower.

"What are you craving?"

All pregnant woman crave something at some point in there pregnancy.
I loved salt! Which is funny because I normally like sweet things. I had a very big sweet tooth.
But when I was pregnant it was salt. Fries, tater tots, chips, anything with salt really.

Look how cute these marshmallows are.
To satisfy the "chewy" craving.

Sour. Yum!
I have no idea what is in those cute little cups but it looks delicious!

Those look like chocolate covered oreos.
Those are my favs!

For this shower they didn't know if it was a boy or girl.
So they had a cute way to suggest names for the baby.

Then guest wore these buttons to say what gender they thought they baby was going to be.
Very cute idea.

My favorite thing about this shower is those cute little signs and the colors of this shower. I love the yellow, black, and white. Perfect gender neutral shower. And who doesn't love polka dots. Very cute.
Of course I found this shower on Amy Atlas' blog.

How to make my diaper cake

This is a tutorial on how I make my diaper cakes.
There are a ton of photos so be prepared.

You will need:
a lot of rubber bands
receiving blankets
cute baby stuff to accessorize your cake

Buy a smaller diaper.
Preferably newborns or size one.
I used Huggies Newborn and size one on this cake.

Roll the diaper from the bottom to the top.
Roll it tightly.

 Secure it with a rubberband.

and then begin layering your cake.
Get a couple bigger rubberbands to hold all of your rolls and start putting them inside the bigger rubberband.

 Get some receiving blankets.
These were purchased from Target.
I prefer the Carters receiving blankets but I was on a budget with this cake and also could not find any Carters blankets that matched the shoes and socks I already had already purchased. So these blankets worked.
Carters blankets are just bigger and easier to work with and also make great gifts.

I find it easier to keep the blankets exactly how they come off of the hanger.
So try and keep them like this. It will be easier to work with and you can use the folds already created.

These things are what make this diaper cake work.
See below.

Wrap your first layer around. You may have to fold the blanket over to make sure its the right height and width.
Then put a few pins in the back where the blankets overlap.
Dont put too many. You dont want the mama to hate you when she is trying to take apart the cake :)

Next, you will have some excess blankets at the top.
Like this...

 Fold the blankets in

And secure the overlapping with pins.
Again, not too many. Just one in the places where it puckers out.

Now you are ready for your next layer...

Wrap your blanket around.

You will have to fold the blankets into different sizes for the following layers.
Trust me you will have to experiment with the folding to see what works for that particular layer.
See how I folded the top over.

Pull it tight and secure it with the pins again.

 Fold the top and secure.

Now look how many times I had to fold this layer.
You may have to get creative on your folds depending on how big or small your cake is.

Wrap it.

And this time I didnt have to secure this layer because it fit my layer perfectly.

And the final top 4th layer.

Here is the final wrapped cake.

Here is the final product.
I picked up those shoes and socks on the cheap at Old Navy (there were clearanced and I used a 30% off coupon! SCORE!!)

And the backside.

Dont you just love how smooth it looks.
I also like to make a little tag on the cake with a description of where exactly the pins are so that they can remove them easily.

This cake is such a hit at showers. People go crazy over them.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Oh Boy!

Changing a baby girl is not all glitz and glory;
Changing a baby boy is another horror story!
You hold his feet with one hand
and the diaper with the other;
The whole time praying
'Please don't pee on your mother!'

These cute little teepees were a gift from my best friend.
They saved me so many times from Little C pee peeing on mommy.
You place them over your little boys pee pee while you are changing them to catch
any accidents that may happen while you are changing them.

Look how cute these are, The sock Monkey.
It seems that the sock monkey is making a come back and I think I like it!

These are the exact ones Little C has.

These baseball ones are pretty cute too.

And the name of these are "Clown Green"
HAHAH I love this! They do look like little clown hats.

Camo. Very manly.

And the Santa Hats.
Very festive I must say.

And you thought the girls got all the cute accessories :)

If you go to Beba Bean you can score yourself some very cute Pee-pee Teepee's.
They make fun shower gifts.

Where to go?

Instead of being couped up in the house on the weekends or the days Little C does not have daycare we like to go out and do something. I prefer to walk around the mall orTarget and places like that with him but that can put a dent in mommies wallet when she sees something she must have :)  (Target gets me everytime) What are some other places to go that are kid friendly and FREE besides....

The Library
Little C is still kinda young to enjoy story time.

 And the park...
Not much he can do here besides swing in the baby swing. Which he loves by the way!

I am stuck on places to go that won't cost us too much money.
Any thoughts? What do you mommies do with your little ones to entertain the both of you and cost next to nothing?

Mama's New Love

IHeart Organzing. Yes I do, but this is the name of an amazing blog I have just discovered.
Jen is the creator behind IHeart Organizing. Go check out her blog and see her amazing, perfect, delicious, make your mouth drool, heavens open and angels sing, new household binder she has created.

Oh my goodnes, just looking at this picture from her blog, it makes me so happy.
I love organzing and have a simple black filing cabinet of all the papers that we have to keep just in case.
You know, those car receipts so you can remember when something was done to your car and what that exactly was. Or, all your financial papers that you have no idea why you are keeping. Or, just scraps of important papers or print outs with information on them that you don't want to forget.

Well Jen from IHeart Organizing has made it so simple with this family binder.
If I knew this girl I would give her a big hug and kiss because this binder ROCKS!!
Look at the cover page of this bad boy, she has even personalized it where you can insert your families information. DROOOOOLLL!

She has made fun lists to keep all your important information and checklists in one place.
Look how colorful these are, and they are oh so functional.
And look at this one, its specifically for all your blogging ideas!

Look at this gorgeous calendar.
You can customize it to each month too.

A family bill keeper. Perfect.
Why have all those bills laying around when you can enter them into the binder with the name of the bill, the date its due and how much. Again, perfect!

She even added tabs with pockets to have the actual bills in and a pocket to keep pens, calculators, stamps and all other goodies that you may need (seen above in the red).

The best part of this whole binder is that she is giving these gorgeous binder printables away for free in the month of March. Yes, free! You just have to download the .pdf's she has provided and you can customize the binder pages to fit your families needs. How awesome is that?! Um, so awesome!

All you have to do is go to her blog, download the .pdf's in March, go to Target to score yourself a really cute binder, get some tabs, pockets if you would like, and start customizing away. You will soon have all of yoru important documents in one place.

I would like to personally thank Jen for making these amazing printables I can't wait to get started on making my family binder. That will be next weekends to do.

If you decide that you just need more of her amazing printables then go to her blog and you can purchase more that she has created.
