About Us

Since I am doing a post about the Sacred Marriage book this week I thought I would do a post about my marriage and how I met Mr. Hubs.
It is a little bit of a long story so sorry about that.

The husband and I went to the same elementary, middle, high school, and college together. Let me first say that our whole class was about 60 people, we went to a very small Christian school. In high school I was the "semi bubbly" cheerleader with a big social calendar. My husband was kinda the quite kid. So, needless to say we didn't really interact. I knew who he was but that was about it.

So come college, he goes off to FSU and I am still at home going to the local college with a lot of his friends. One weekend a friend of his and I decide to go up to FSU and to just ride together. I was going to surprise one of my friends and just show up and stay with her and party for the weekend. Bad idea, because I call her to just chat on the ride up and she tells me she is going away for the weekend. I had no idea what I was going to do or where I was going to stay. So, I decided to stay in the disgusting dorm room with all the guys, this dorm room and bathroom had mold growing in the toilet and shower, looks like they never cleaned there floor, yeah it was nast! Typical college boys dorm room. It was actually a pretty crazy and fun weekend but that is when we first started talking.

From then on we chatted on the computer (because he is not a phone guy AT ALL even to this day) when IM was actually cool. I came up some weekends and he came down some weekends and we all just hung out because we had the same group of friends.

The next year I am up in Tallahassee at FSU now going to school and we dated on and off through out college. The breakups were normally over really dumb stuff. But of course I didn't think that then.

Our main breakup was actually the close of our senior year.
It was one of the hardest things my heart has gone through. I literally felt sick for a long time.
I was living back in our home town doing my internship and he was still up at FSU partying his booty off.
We decided we needed to see if we were actually the people we were supposed to be with.
Let me just say we both had lots of fun and figured it all out.
We were broken up for a long time...maybe a year I cant really remember.
We both did our own thing but still knew we were right for each other.
I missed him like crazy! But totally wasn't going to let him know :)

So, we both are doing our own thing, I'm still living in my home town and the hubs is now living in Kansas City for a job he took (his current job now actually) and he calls me while I am in the car coming back from Tallahassee with another guy in the car.
I refused to tell myself that this guy and I were dating but I guess we kinda were. I don't know, still to this day I will say no.
Anyways, when my phone rang of course I answered because I wanted to talk to him, I thought this guy would have been quite since ya know I was on the phone. Oh no, he started talking to me while I was on the phone and my husband was drilling me who this guy in my car was. You could tell he was very hurt. It was sad.
I never rushed to get home so fast before so I could smooth over the situation. I swear I flung the guy out with his stuff at his apartment and I sped home so fast, I don't even know if I said bye or anything to him. I just wanted him out of my car NOW!

We talked and again he was very hurt. The fact I was seeing someone else was finally setting in.
I cant remember if it was later that night or that next week that he asked me to move up to Kansas City with him.  I was so excited. In my heart this whole time I knew we were supposed to be together. I loved him so much.

So, I moved up to good 'ol KC for exactly a year.
That's a story in itself ,and got engaged in 2007 and the rest is history.

Now, we are happily married and have sweet little C.

So, there ya have it, how I met my Hubs.

It is so funny to hear how others met! With my ex we did the same thing broke up for the craziest reasons that seemed so important at the time. I'm glad he is just an ex now and that I found the one I really love!
