I Got Punched In The Eye

Yes, I got punched in the eye by my toddler.
This whole veggie eating is out of control.
So out of control that he punched me in the eye.
Sweet!!

Here is how it all went down...
After I pick up C from day care we normally go home and have a snackie.
I call it a "snackie" to try and trick him.
Not that he knows what in the hell I'm even saying to him but we have our "snackies" after day care every single day.
Nothing new here same old yummy snackie of veggies.
I try to get 2 containers of baby food veggies down his little hatch because I don't know how much nutritional valued food he actually eats at day care since I'm not there.

Anyways, he has not been wanting to eat his snackie lately.
He throws a royal C fit and swings his arm like a wind shield whipper and just screams his little head off.
Which lately has been triggering me to pick my battles and just let him down out of his chair.
Well for some reason I was not having it.
I was not letting Mr. C win this battle.
He needs his veggies and he will eat them and he will eat them now.
What a horrible mama I am right?
Making my child eat nutritious foods...how dare me.
So he starts throwing his little fit like he does.
You would think I was Italian punching my child all over his body by the way he was freaking out.
So, I pick him up and throw him on my hip thinking he will eat the veggies if I was holding him.
Yeah right! That pissed him off even more.
And holy freaking out batman...
He windshield whipped me several times punching me right in the eye.
I blindly put him down and grabbed my eye like it just popped out of my head.
Holy heck did it hurt!
A couple of profanities did fling from my mouth and I try to open my eye with no avail.
Just tears poured out.
C scurried off like nothing even happened.

The hubs was sitting no less the a couple of feet from the incident and he didn't even acknowledge what happened.
I swear they live in their own worlds sometimes.
It wasn't until later that night that I was complaining about my eye still that he asked what happened.
Awesome.

So, when was the last time your toddler punched you in the eye?
Needless to say I did learn my lesson.
Don't think he learned a lick from it though.

Oh man... I can just see this scene unfolding. I had to laugh out loud when you mentioned his arm flying like a windshield wiper. My daughter does something very similar! She doesn't seem to like the mushy baby food anymore, so I put as much on the spoon as possible (so I can make the most of each successful trip) and repeat as quickly as possible, before the arms start flailing! We're trying more finger foods once she refuses the spoon. Oh the joys of motherhood! Hope your eye is back to normal now and that the veggies go down better next time.
