A Rant On This Chick Fil A Day

Well Chick-Fil-A you made a bad move.
Really, a bad business decision.
But, I still love ya.
If, however, you take what was actually said,
which was that the president and his company take a stand for traditional marriage.
It is not at all wrong.
In my opinion at least.
Where is anyone seeing that the President of CFA is calling out gays in particular?

People are trying to twist this mans words all around into making it something its not.

You and everyone else in the world know that CFA is a Christian based company,
so why in the world is it a surprise that Mr. Cathy said this.
People should be applauding this man.
Good for you Mr. Cathy for standing by what the Bible says and what you believe.

Regardless of what he said or didn't say,
what about that thing we call the 1st Amendment?
Ya know, Freedom of Speech and Religion.
One Nation Under God,
In God We Trust.

Our Nation claims to be a Godly nation,
but look around, what is happening to it?

Mr. Cathy never once said that he "hated" the gays, he simply said that he did not agree with their lifestyle.
Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean you can't love them.
He may have gay family members or even friends.
You don't know, and are therefore judging this man now.
Wow, full circle, you are judging this man for judging someone and you are doing the same.

To be honest, if you really want to get down to it, and you want to criticize this man,
then you need to do your research and find out the beliefs behind
any and all companies that you shop and eat with.
I am sure you will be quite shocked at all that is out there.

I for one support Chick Fil A and will continue to eat there.
They make amazing food,
have great service,
and basically im addicted.
I can't resist their #5, with 2 Chick Fil A sauces of course.

Now head out to your local Chick Fil A for Appreciation Day!

Thank you!! The outrage is so confusing to me! I mean u ask a guy who u know is southern baptist, who gladly gives up profits on Sunday...what did u think he was going to say?

All of these protests are becoming confusing. Mr. Cathy has every right to align his values to his business and it doesn't mean that he hates or bashes any other groups.

Like the other poster said, if a man closes and forgoes Sunday profits, what did they think his thoughts were?

Amen! Well said : ) And good point on other companies, CEO's, etc. What's next - a ban on Hobby Lobby and all things home decor? They are Christian & closed Sundays. Personally, I admire any company that gives their employees a day off to spend with family, going to church, going to temple or whatever. We have forgone the day of rest for the days of convenience. And I can't wait to get some CFA in mah belly : )

I appreciate this rant! I am mad busy but when I saw your tease on instagram I had to jump on over and read. I am sick of all of it really, and I think what you said was great. I support Christian values, and one of those is not hating on other people. I have gay people in my life that I love and support and I am not gonna involve myself in this media created frenzy over gays and chikfila. It is irritating and sad that people are not allowed to have a different opinion anymore . That little cartoon you posted presented it perfectly. SO I think what he said was fine, and I am not boycotting, but I am also not going there today just because they are having a support chicfila day. if that makes sense.

Thanks you for having a real opinion about this issue. I definetly agree we are all free to our opinions. I just can't stand when people only look at one side or act like their opinion is superior. The media has definitely blown this out of proportion and I'm sure chick fil a will still get plenty of business today even though I will be staying home to eat my lunchables to avoid the crowds.

Amen and amen! I agree 100% with what you said. Number 1 with sweet tea (+ bar-b-q sauce for my fries and Polynesian sauce for my sandwich) for me today!

I agree with some of what you said except the are using their profits to fund organizations that I would never give my money to. If it were just their opinion then fine. I know my $15 doesn't hurt CFA bottom line but I can't help them support a cause I disagree with. Since they can use their profits for whatever, I'll happily avoid CFA. Bybye Chicken.

Well said!! I totally agree (^_^)

I'm with JMS on this one. Am I shocked by what Mr. Cathy said? Um, no. I have no problem with him standing up for what he believes in and I am not judging him for his beliefs. I do, however, have a problem with company money being used to support organizations that I don't see eye to eye with. If the Cathy's were using their money and donating in their names, fine. But when they use the money in CFA's name, I feel like they are speaking on behalf of their customers. I am choosing not to let them speak on my behalf.

Amen to every single word you said! And now I need some chik-FIL-a!

AMEN AND AMEN! If there wasn't red velvet cake at work to take my extra calories for the day, I was going to support CFA. However, that Red Velvet Cake looks EXTRA DELISH!

Such a TRUE post! Thank you for your insight!

THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS!! And I can't wait to scoot down to Chick Fil A later tonight for a giant milkshake!!

While I don't have any intention of boycotting CFA I'm not going to run out and support them today either. Just because you have the right to say something doesn't mean you should.

Love you for this!!! I could not have said it better! My girls and I were there today supporting Mr. Cathy. I was overwhelmed at the amount of people that were there. The line was outside the door, but we stayed and fought the crowd!! It was the best feeling seeing so many support this man and his company!!
