One thing Southern girls love are some
down home delicious boiled peanuts.
They are one of my favorite indulgences
and the saltier the better!
I have put together a quick and easy recipe for you.
All you need is
1 pound of raw "green" peanuts.
1/2 cup kosher salt (or 2 Tbsp table salt)
4 cups water
First rinse the raw peanuts in water.
Put the water, salt, and peanuts in a large pot.
Bring to a low boil.
Cover and reduce the heat just enough to maintain a low boil.
Boil for about 2 to 3 hours or until the peanuts reach their desired level of softness.
You can easily double or triple this recipe.
The longer the peanuts cook, they softer and more salty they become.
My mouth is watering now just thinking about them.
Your whole family will go crazy over these delicious salty treats.
