I simply can not resist your gorgeous products.

What is with me and pretty papery?
I don't know what I just can't have enough of it.

And gorgeous holiday cards that have glittery letter-ing.
Ugh, stop it Minted,

My poor bank account.

Not to mention a Christmas card strictly with my sweet face on it.
Yes please,
because lets get real,
who wants to see our mugs when you can see a cutie pie like C.

But if we must opt for a family pic I love this one.
So simple but yet gorgeous.

I love the fun whimsical colors on this one.

Or new newsletter-ish look is pretty cool too.

Using Glitter As A Prop With Kids

Glitter, glitter, everywhere!
Pinterest has inspired me to do a photo shoot
with my sweet face and well, GLITTER!

The beautiful and talented Christina Higman captured
our glitter session and she did an amazing job!

As you know,
toddlers and glitter normally don't go together,
but with a few tips from me,
hopefully your session can go very smoothly.

First of all, you will want to buy chunky glitter.
I actually bought two kinds.

Next, be prepared for a big, big mess.
Do your session outside.
Not only because of the mess
but because you will need the sun to catch the flecks of glitter
to make your photo shine.
If need be scout out the best lighting.
We did our session in a park just about an hour or two before it was to get dark.

If you think your toddler can handle blowing glitter all by themselves.
Well, you will be sorely disappointed.
Glitter will be everywhere but in the photo.

Since they will need help,
sit down and place your toddler in your lap.
Cup your toddlers hands over your hands.
Have someone else dump the two kinds of glitter into you and your toddlers hands.
When prompted by the photographer,
blow away and let the magic happen on the camera.
Make sure you listen for sweet giggles.

Hand placement is very important in this photo.
In fact it could make or break your whole photo.
Notice how our hands are cupped and away from our faces.
You want the placement of your hands to be below your chin so that
the camera can see your face.

Just have fun with it, laugh and smile.
And see glitter for days on end in your hair, clothes, car, everywhere.

Mommy Confessions

Every week that I link up I always sing the Usher "Confessions" song in my head.
I just can't help it.
Ya gotta admit its pretty catching.

But anyways, onto my mommy confessions this week.

-I must confess that I desperately need a couple days off work.
I am completely and totally swamped at work and need a break.
It's really not much of a break when you are doing work on your days off but whatever, ill take it.
At least I can do it from home.
I need family time and what snuggling I can get from my sweet face.
Oh and a sabbatical.
Maybe that's what ill ask for for Christmas.
Santa please, I have been a good girl.

-I was all pumped to go to Blissdom this year until recently.
I don't know what got into me but I have no desire to go.
Zip, zero, zilch motivation to do the blogging conference thing in 2013.
I am all about vacations and time away but a blogging conference is just not a vacation.
It's actually quite draining.
Although I had a great time and met some great people last year, I came back sick as a dog,
had a huge work pile on my desk and missed my sweet face like crazy.
So, hopefully instead of the whole Blissdom rigmarole I can get away the some fellow
blogging Mama's that I have been dying to meet IRL.

-I am so ready for Christmas and am bursting of excitement to give C's Santa gifts to him already.
Its not even Thanksgiving yet and I want to give him everything.
He has been a very good boy.
Can we just skip the whole hoopla of Thanksgiving and go right to putting of the Christmas tree
and Santa doling out pressies?
I promise to thank God for my amazing blessings he has given me.

-Holy doctor mess.
I have been to the doctors (all different ones) a total of 4 times in a week period.
And not for C, for me.
I do this every year and it about kills me.
I try to cram in all my doctors appointments at the end of the year to make sure I am one healthy Mama.
But why oh why do I do that to myself.
Stupid.
As much as I love to get jabbed with needs, poked to the eye balls, spend tons of money on meds,
I am over it.
Bye bye money.
Nice knowing you right before Christmas.
Ugh

Sunday Social

I heart Sunday's and I heart being Social so whats better than a
SUNDAY SOCIAL!

This Sunday in honor of Thanksgiving I am dishing on just a FEW of the things I am thankful for.
Some are close to my heart and well, some are just down right petty
here they are,
what I, Cheryl, am thankful for....

Cliche or not,
I am so incredibly thankful for my family.
It is simply amazing how my heart has filled with so much love in just 2 years.

These two make me so happy.
Never, ever, did I think I would have a family that made me so happy.
That little boy right there is such a blessing to me.
He amazes me every single day.
My heart could not be more full.

I am thankful for my families good health.
Health is such an important thing that should never be taken for granted.
Like family.
Thank you Lord for keeping my family healthy.

I am thankful that both my husband and I both have good jobs and can provide for our families.

I am thankful for two beverages.
Yes, I told you some would be petty.

First up is wine.
Wine definitely helps with the the everyday work stress and toddler tantrums.

And coffee.
Morning and mid day snack.
I love coffee.

I am thankful that everyday I have a roof over my head.
That is is in a safe neighborhood.
That it is a dependable home.
Our first home as a family.

I am thankful for social media.

To say that I have met so many awesome ladies through social media is an understatement.
I actually have felt more of a bond through my
"Internet" friends (as my husband calls them) than some of my IRL friends.
I have gotten so many awesome opportunities through blogging
and am truly thankful for what all it has given me.

Ok, so these are just a FEW of the random things I am thankful for.
Now, I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!
