Jan 3 OR Until The Cake Is All Gone

New Year's resolution
is a commitment that a person makes to one or more personal goals, projects, or the reforming of a habit. A key element to a New Year's Resolution that sets it apart from other resolutions is that it is made in anticipation of the New Year and new beginnings. People committing themselves to a New Year's resolution generally plan to do so for the whole following year. This lifestylechange is generally interpreted as advantageous.

Well thank you Wikipedia for that very informing definition.
What they fail to mention is this riveting definition is the success rate.
It's kind of embarrassing actually.
88% of people who make New Years Resolutions FAIL.
And out of those people,
52% of them were confident that they would complete their resolutions.

With those pathetic numbers I will tell you right now that
I WILL NOT be making a New Years Resolution.
Nope, not me.

First off, my birthday is January 2nd and I refuse to be on a diet/work out plan on my birthday.
Sorry just not me.
I normally stuff myself with my favs, which include a little bit of
Mexican, Olive Garden, Wine, and of course my ultimate favorite
BIRTHDAY CAKE.
No holds bar here.
All out on my birthday.

But I must say that come January 3rd I will start to eat better and work out.
It's a must.
Not only for my weight but for my general health.

So, since I simply can not say no to birthday cake,
my new years non-resolution is
Jan 3rd or until the cake is all gone!

So here is to a New Year and some birthday cake!

Finding A Good Insurance Agent

Well now that I am officially a grown up,
I have to worry about things like my health, wrinkles, weight, budgets,
and finding the right insurance agent for our family.

A good insurance agent can save you not only your valuable time but also your money.
Which fits into that budget category that I was talking about above.
Finding a good insurance agent that fits what you are looking for is key.
But once you find that agent,
they will help you find the right type of insurance for your families needs.

-Ask your friends and family who they use.
Obviously these people won't steer you in the wrong direction,
they will look at for your interests and refer you to who they think is best.
Also ask your co-workers, financial advisors and accountants.

-Look for a professional agent compared to an newbie.
The professionals know the ins and outs of insurance world,
while the newbie agent may struggle.
This is your time and money, you don't want someone to mess up either of those valuable things.
Plus there is a reason they are a "professional".
The professional will help break down all that complicated insurance lingo to help you feel more comfortable with your purchase.

-Do your research.
Even if they are a professional, you will still want to look into what they are offering.
Compare the quotes you are getting.
Are you comparing apples to apples?

-Go with your gut.
Make sure you think your insurance agent is acting in your best interest.
If you feel they are not.
Then that agent is not for you.

The awesome people over at Landmark Insurance Inspections
are hosting a great giveaway for a $25.00 gift card to Target!

DIY Glitter Christmas Ornaments

I was taking a look at our Christmas tree this weekend and noticed that it just needed a bit of pizazz.
It did not have that "Enlow" flair to it.
I wanted someone to look at our tree and know it was ours.

So I whipped out some craft supplies and came up with these beauties.

All you need is some clear ornaments, glitter, and stickers or rub ons.
The key to the stickers is that they need to be just the letter and no background to it.

I first put the glitter in the ornaments.
I placed the ornaments in a bowel and then took a piece of scrap paper and shaped it like a small funnel.
This may the entry of the glitter a lot easier.

Then I secured the top,
added the stickers to say my last name,
smacked a ribbon on it,

and there you have it!
I used silver glitter flakes and regular colored glitter.

I think they turned out great.
These would make nice teacher gifts or something personal for that special friend.

Easy Holiday Coffee Recipes ::Torani::

It is not a secret that I have to have my morning IV of coffee.
I am not fully functioning unless I have my coffee.
So when SheSpeaks and Torani contact me about reviewing their
mouth watering syrups I was right on board!

Torani supplied me with two bottles of pure delciousness.
One was the gingerbread which is oh so holiday-ish
and the other was the Sugar Free Salted Caramel.
Now, this may sound really silly of me claiming that I am a huge coffee drinker and all
but I had no idea that the Sugar Free had zero calories.
Zip, zero, zilch!
Now that makes it even tastier in my book.

Easy peasy and so good you can enjoy it all year round.

You can also add any Torani syrups to this Starbucks rival recipe for a yummy flavored Hot Cocoa.

Next time you are at your local grocery or on Amazon shopping,
make sure you put some Torani into your shopping cart.
Perfect for Christmas time.

Non Traditional Christmas Colors

Let the countdown begin!
Only 13 more days until Christmas!!

What I get most excited about is decorating.
I normally bust out all the Christmas decor the day after Thanksgiving,
turn on some Christmas tunes on my Pandora,
make myself some hot chocolate and start decorating and singing away.

A lot of people prefer the red and green.
But not me.
I like the non traditional Christmas colors.
The modern look is more my style.
The pinks, turquoises mixed with the lime greens and bright reds
are my ultimate favorite!
I do like to add in classic pieces though.
Like our Pottery Barn stockings.
Those were a must have.
They go perfect with our decor.
And well to be honest they would go perfect with any decor you choose.
They are so simple and will last us many many years.

I got that little modern white glossy reindeer last year
and I think he makes my back table scape.
Isn't he cute!
I like to give him different collars throughout December.
Hehe.

Don't forget to go link up with Mandy today for our Jingle Bell Rock Blog Hop.
We are giving away lots of goodies.

Christmas Yummies

A good cup of hot cocoa puts me right in the mood for Christmas.
And with some Christmas music on Pandora, well I am just in Christmas heaven.

It's not Christmas without some hot chocolate,
and of course we can't forget Santa's cup, with cookies of course.

And I have the best hot chocolate recipe for you.
You will be thinking that this recipe puts Starbucks to shame.
So no more $4.00 hot chocolates for you.
You can now keep your $4.00 and enjoy your delicious drink in your own home.

Now go and try out this recipe and make sure you don't forget the whipped cream.
The whipped cream makes it that more special and delicious.

Don't forget Santa's mug on Christmas Eve.
He needs a fully belly to deliver all those presents.

Today I am linking up for the Jingle Bell Rock Blog Hop.
Make sure you hop on over to visit Molly as she dishes on her favorite Christmas Yummies.

In case you missed entering the giveaway,

Do you Love it? I sure do!

Well I have found a fun and funky kids boutique
and wanted to share with my readers.
Especially my readers in the UK.
You are going to love all this brightness!

The name of the boutique is Love it, Love it, Love it.
And the name just fits perfectly because you will find yourself
saying
"Love it" to everything.

Love it, Love it, Love it reminds me Old Navy in the U.S.
the clothes not only look sweet and adorable but are durable.
And what kid and mama doesn't love clothes that hold up.
Well I think only Mama's care about that kind of stuff but the kiddo looks cute.

Look how cute all this velour is.
Alot of this velour is by Ej Sikke Lej

Those stripped pants are so cute and look super warm
for those cold winter-y days.

And how foxy is your sweet kiddo going to be in all this foxy owl apparel.

And I will take one of everything in this collage please.
These colors are so fun and will add the perfect pop to your tots wardrobe.

So if you are looking for kids clothes with a mix of
Old Navy and the Children's Place than this is your boutique.
Your little one will be the best dressed out of the bunch in their Love it, Love it , Love it
and Ej Sikke Lej apparel.

Hop on by Love it, Love it, Love it's Facebook to "Like it" or in their case, Love it!

They also are on Pinterest.

Jingle Bell Rock Blog Hop::Elf On The Shelf::

It's Christmas time on the blog!
I think all of us Mama's can relate to the fun in Christmas.
Not only the gift giving, decorating, holiday treats,
but the good 'ol Elf on the Shelf!

I would like to formally introduce you to
Alan.
Alan is is one heck of a creepy little guy,
but awfully cute at the same time.
Despite feeling like he is constantly watching me and could possibly kill me at any moment.
I think the silly little guy is growing on me.

Today I am hoping you will link up your Elf on the Shelf ideas with me.
Here are some silly acts we have done in our house.
We try to keep it clean around here.

Yoga Elf.
Alan likes to work on his fitness.
He jams out to who else but Fergie and "Fergilicious"
sometimes he will switch it up to
"Baby Got Back"
The guy has some great music sense.

Since Alan likes to hit the bottle pretty hard,
we try to keep his beverage of choice out of reach,
but he fooled us this time.
He found his drink of choice, Syrup straight up with a straw.

Alan sometimes gets scared by all the crazy boy toys in the house.
Oh Alan, don't be frightened they are just plastic.

And what Elf doesn't need a break from all the flying around
to and from the North Pole.
His guilty pleasure is Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Alan is very high maintance.
He likes to keep himself Fresh to Death.
Ya know, like the guys from Jersey Shore.
He told me he has a crush on the Situation.

Sometimes he can be found in the freezer.
He misses home and its too hot in Florida for Mr. Alan.

Naughty Elf!
Getting into Mommy's purse.
As long as your purchas something from Tory Burch,
this Mama won't be mad at 'cha.

Don't forget to link up and join in on the Jingle Bell Rock Blog Hop Giveaway fun!

And here is a list of all the giveaway items up for grabs!
