So What...

Since my arrival back on the blogging scene it is only appropriate that I kick it off with linking up with Life After I Dew's "So What Wednesdays". This genius little link up is actually a bit of therapy for this mama. So many other mama's can relate to what you are going through and makes you feel human again. So this Wednesday, here is what im saying "So What" to...
  • that I may cry myself to sleep on Sunday because my maternity leave officially commences on Sunday night. My 8 weeks of baby-ness is done, back to reality
  • if I might be a tiny bit excited to go back to work and have some "me" time in the piece and quiet. I am not ready for the actual work load though.
  • if I am strategizing how I am going to cat nap at work. Lets just say lunch break napping is my fav.
  • that I have my carts full at Old Navy, Shutterfly and Target in hopes of killer Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. All I gotta do is just click the purchase now button.
  • if my favorite part of Thanksgiving and the left overs is the pumpkin pie and gobs and gobs of Cool Whip.
  • that my second favorite part of Thanksgiving is not having to cook for a week due to all the left overs. I do not enjoy cooking but I love to bake. Cooking is just not fun, who wants to taste chicken while you are cooking it??? Baking is way more awesome because you can lick the batter...yum
Come back next week to see what im saying "So What" to.

BabyCycle

Since becoming a mom I have realized how expensive baby items are.
A whole box of diapers plus a box of wipes will run you around $50.00
and will most likely only last you about two weeks.
That is about .29 cents a diaper change.
Which includes 1 diaper and 2 wipes.
And we all know that we need more than 2 wipes for those extra messy changes.

And that .29 cents only covers one diaper change, there is also the formula, bibs, toys, burp cloths, clothes, bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers, laundry detergent, etc.
all those necessities add up quickly.

Luckily, I am fortunate enough to be able to afford the basics for my family,
but there are so many other other families that struggle just to feed and/or diaper their child.

But you know what?!
There is something that YOU can do to help.
Enter....

The concept of BabyCycle is amazing and helps families in need.
Basically, BabyCycle is a diaper bank.
However, they provide other necessities for a baby as well not just diapers.

BabyCycle also holds some pretty exciting events around the Bay Area.
The proceeds of their fabulous events go towards stocking the diaper bank for moms in need.

BabyCycle is hosting an upcoming event that you wont want to miss.
It is the Girl's Holiday Brunch.
Now, this is not just any brunch,
there will be a fashion show put on by Posh Tot, a silent auction, a fabulous Mommy speaker,
and unlimited mimosas and champagne along with a yummy brunch!

It is being held at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club
on
December 8th at 11:00 a.m.
and you can buy your tickets here through EventBrite

Please visit BabyCycle's Facebook Page with any questions.

See you at the Girl's Holiday Brunch.

Blogging Break

A lot can happen when one takes a blogging break.
Such as a sweet and cuddly newborn being born, maternity leave flying by before my tired puffy eyes, the stomach bug running rampant in our home, lots of sleepless nights, a whole lotta caffeine consumption, and a new domain name for Nap Time Is The New Happy Hour.

I am back.

With my self-induced disappearance from blogging land, I had lots of time to think about how much blogging stresses me out. With SEO, page views, Likes, Follows, ping backs, etc., I can’t seem to balance it all. I have to admit, I thought about closing up shop completely. With my new found family of 4 I am not so sure how I can keep up with it all and still have me time to blog or any me time at all.

Blogging has become my hobby since I am pretty much grounded to my house and have a curfew of 7:00 pm.  I remember when I would hit up the mall, stroll around the mall with a vanilla iced coffee (one splenda and light cream please) in hand ewing and awing everything in the store windows. But what fun is shopping with two kids constantly wanting attention, snacks, to go to the potty (only to look at the public bathroom and say they don’t have to go anymore…that’s my fav), etc., you know the drill.  I would rather clean my baseboards with a toothbrush and my spit. I can even sit here and think about when I had time to go to the gym. I hated every second of it but would like to think that I would love the torture again, and not the kind my kids can sometimes dish out. There is no way I am going to take my kids to the gym with me and put them in their "day care" or cesspool as I like to call it, only to be in mid sesh work out on my euphoric adrenaline high and wham, the little stupid beeper gets blown up because my kid is either pitching a royal fit or has poop himself. No thanks. If I am going to work out (which again, isn’t likely) I don’t want to be interrupted. So here I am again, back to blogging because no other hobby fits into my foursome family, which is fine because blogging really is my outlet. Now I just need to not let it stress me out. We shall see how it goes this time.

Nap Time is still going to be a lifestyle blog, I will blog a range of different topics, from mommy issues to fashion to random ramblings about whatever I see fit. So sit back during Nap Time, grab a glass of Vino and enjoy blog reading.
