Parenting

- would run to her child over every bump and bruise. I actually specifically remember having the conversation with my husband (pre baby of course) about how I didn't want to have one of those kids who whined and cried over the sillies little bump. Well, when your child cries or is in pain, you run. I will hold and comfort him for as long as he will let me. Because I know this wont last very long.

- would go through the Starbucks drive through at 9:00 a.m. to get mama some much needed caffeine as well as a cakepop for her fussy faced tot.

- would crave the touch of my children. The hugs, kisses and sweet words and coos make my day. No amounts of wine or ice cream can after an long day can top an "I Love You Mommy" or "Your My Best Friend"and my secret favorite is when he prefers me over his daddy, which is very few and far between lately.

-  would have to set limit on "screen time". I never knew there was such a thing until I saw how drawn in kids can get to TV.

- would lie in my kids bed at bedtime and just chat about their day and not want to get up because my heart feels so big it could burst.

- bribes her kid to be good all week for a donut day on Friday. And yes, we are currently doing this and its working like a charm. My kids is o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d with donuts. Glazed munchkins to be exact, but he isn't picky he will eat any type of donut.

- has her designer bag stocked with extra diapers, hot wheels, wipes, fruit snacks, binks, and Spiderman's for the just in cases in life. You never can be too prepared for the unexpected meltdown of the year or a case of the munchies.

- doesn't mind waking up early on the weekends to be with my kids. There is always something a mom can do, clean, laundry, or snuggle on the couch watching Avengers. All while sipping my coffee. I am up early remember.

- would be gloating about how good of sleepers that her kids are. I mean seriously we lucked out in the sleep department. Colby slept through the night at 8 weeks and Austin at 7. I have a thing for sleep, even when I was a kid so maybe that is where they get it from. But hey I'm not complaining, sleep away my little dudes.

- cry at every stage. These tears are big ugly tears. I try to hold back because my husband makes fun of me. These tears I speak of are sad tears. Sad that my kids are growing up.

- Target and Starbucks would be my little piece of heaven. I love my kids like the next mother but there is something about that big red bulls eye and the smell of fresh coffee and just being around ADULTS and smiling and waving at other kids in the carts.

And you know what? Some of these things I used to think were ridiculous parenting methods that I would never do. But, my kids are loved, smart and healthy so to me, whatever gets you by during the day that matters.

Best Toddler Boy Books

We are a house filled of boys and wanted to share our current favorite boy books. These books will catch the attention of any rough and tough little guy.

A true classic. My parents read this book to me as a child and now im reading it to my child. A cute little tale about a boy and his imagination full of wild things and a notion that there is no place like home.

What little boy doesn't love trains?! This book is all about a family traveling together in a train. It's a great family story with details of the familys trip on the train including all the fun noises trains have to offer.

This is kinda a long book but it has a very cute story. Literally, the crayons quit and are complaining as to why they should be the best crayon most used crayon, or used less because they are the best color. My son loves the illustrations. Cute book and would make a great present.

Another favorite boy book. This sweet bedtime read is full of what boys love the most, tractors and construction site stuff. The books talks about each one of the tractors long days and the type of work they do, but after their long day of rough fun its time to go to sleep so they can do it all again tomorrow.

The "Laughing Kit" is a must. It includes the Tickle Monster book and monster mittens. This book is fun for the whole family. The reader puts on the monster mittens and tickles away while reading. If you don't like smiling and laughing than this book is not for you and your kids. You will walk away with a warm heart and your kids will absolutely love the tickle monster.

Trucks, trucks and more trucks. Perfect for a little boys truck obsession. Great basic pictures of all kinds of different trucks and descriptions of what each truck does with a fun rhyme to go along.

A little story about a blue bird who got bonked on the head and nothing seems to fix his poor boo boo. Cute story that kids can relate too since they are always getting boo boos and perfect for the parent who can't seem to comfort their own child.

This is one of my personal favorites. The writing flows nicely and is a very easy to read to your truck lovin boy. The story is about a dump truck that broke down and tries to grab the attention of different vehicles driving by. You could quite possibly have the phrase "my truck is stuck" in your head after you have read this book a couple of times. At least I do. I think I have memorized the whole book we read it so much.

Beep, Beep! If you are looking for books that teach a good lesson on how to treat others than this is a great book to get. The Little Blue Truck is all about a truck named Blue who has a pack of animal friends to help him out of muddy situation. Friendships and helping others is the backbone to this great toddler read.

Another classic about a fun family trip to go catch a bear. There are lots of fun noises to go along with this action packed bear hunt.

This book is from the same author and illustrator as Good Night Construction Site (one of our favs). The dream train pulls into the station is starts loading all sorts of fun and silly things in the beds of the trains.

20 big trucks are stuck in the middle of the street. The story goes down the list of all the different types of trucks and what they do and whats in them. This book is sure to get your boy spotting all types of trucks on your daily drives, which makes for fun car ride talks.

Laundry Fresh

I have this thing with the smell of clean fresh laundry. I want everything I own to smell fresh. I guess who doesn't though right?

I am also into saving a dime or two. To me, Downy Unstopables are a bit on the expensive side, so worth it because they give my laundry such a yummy and long lasting smell.

Just last weekend I was having company over and had the house all clean but it still did not have the fresh, I just put 6 hours of hard labor into cleaning this house smell. It needed a little extra fresh smell and realized I ran out of my go to Scentsy bars. I decided that it couldn't hurt to throw a couple of shakes of Downy Unstopables into my warmer. Well, I'm glad I did because it smelled like you just rolled around in some hot warm laundry.  It was pure perfection if you ask me. Why had I not done this before? So easy and cheap. No more buying those expensive wax bars.

All you need is:

A wax warmer-
you can get them from Scentsy or even Walmart sells them. I got mine at Walmart a while ago.
They aren't very expensive wither. I think less than $15.00

Downy Unstopables-
sold at Target, Walmart, or your local grocery.
They run $4.99 for a small container or $9.99 or  for the large container as shown above.

Turn your warmer on,
add a couple shakes and let it melt.

Warning: do not leave the warmer unattended as it may catch on fire.
Read more here if you would like more information regarding the flammability of Downy Unstopables and how to extinguish.

My Goings On

{one}

After a long day at work opening your mailbox to find "happy mail" makes me, well, happy. Especially when I get some Swanky Shank goodies. Look at Austin's newest 6 month digs. Pretty cute huh?

{two}

Totally wanting to make these for my little guy and myself if I am going to be honest. Who doesn't love Lucky Charms?

I have a couple of ideas up my sleeve for St. Patrick's Day. I do have to say I was highly disappointed with Targets selection of St. Patrick's day stuff. They had zero of it. Come on Target, get it together. A little section is all I ask. Did anyone else's Target have stuff or just my location? I even cased the party section thinking I could come up with something in there. Nope.

{three}

We are going on a little getaway this weekend with the kids. Hopefully it will involve lots of wrap around porch drinking and some fun in the sun. But can I say, getting two kids and myself packed is not for the weak. I mean this because there is a lot of stuff. Lots of gotta brings "just in case" situations happen. My packing shows my neurotic tendencies.

{four}

I am in search of a cute bathing suit. However it needs coverage. After all I am a mom and will most likely be chasing around my toddler in a bathing suit..eek! I saw this one and thought it was very girly and cute. Just wonder how well the top will hold everything in.

{five}

And this.

Hop on over to The Good Life Blog to see more 5 on Friday.

Porch Drinking, Anniversaries & Tory Burch

Life After I Dew

Thank heavens it's Wednesday! Totally doing the happy dance while I'm writing this post and sippin on my coffee. Here are a few things I'm saying "So What" to this week...

- that we have a little trip planned for this weekend and I'm already mostly packed. We aren't leaving until Friday but I hate the last minute rush so I try to get it all done as soon as possible.

- if I have this relaxing idea in my head how this trip will go but in my heart know it wont go that way. I have dreams of a wrap around porch and me not getting up the whole time, except for refills on my wine. How it will go, I will end up chasing around a toddler and probably giving in to a few melt downs since he is off his schedule.

- that our anniversary is coming up soon and I am clueless on what to get him or to do?! Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed!

- if my spring wardrobe looks pitiful. I will hopefully be resolving that issue shortly. Wish I could buy weight loss.

- if I have a thing for Tory Burch flip flops. I own several of her shoes from flats to flips and they are by far my comfiest flips (and flats). Too bad they are so dang expensive. Hmmmm maybe that will be a good Mother's Day pressie.

Come see what everyone else is saying So What to do this week over at Life After I Dew

***This weeks featured post from last week's hop:

Hi everyone. This is Tiffany this week. Maybe it was the name of this blog post or the peculiar picture of cattle running, but I was very intrigued in reading this post. I am so glad I did! I will never forget my days working a catering job in college. I had always wanted to be an event planner, and then I started catering. I thought the job sounded so glamorous! Weddings, champagne, cocktail dresses- ah. Then I saw the real deal. Those event planners busted their butts. They worked the longest hours, mostly weekends, and were not afraid to get their hands dirty. They went from sneakers to high heels right before the event. They dealt with stressful scenarios ("Where are the flowers?!", "Why is the best man drunk?!"). It was an eye-opener!

Then I got to do my own event planning for a health care company. It wasn't glamorous events. It was races- think the Muddy Buddy or a century bike race. Stress city. I said "goodbye" for a while to event planning. It was fun and amazing, just very different from what I expected.

If you are interested in what an event planner REALLY does, check out this awesome post. I love reading what many of you do in real life, ha. It is so cool to hear about your other jobs and hobbies other than blogging!

Lamm to the Laughter is an inspiring and fun blog written by Brianne. Brianne is an event planner, equestrian and traveler. Her blog is lovely. She writes about anything from a creme brulee recipe to thoughts on being the, ahem, "perfect wife". Go be her friend, already!

Keep posting awesome content! You make it so fun for me to read all your posts! If you can, please link up a specific post. It makes it easier for us to come and visit!

*Remember YOU can be next weeks winner! :)

Stitch Fix Review Part Two

I think of myself now as a seasoned Stitch Fix subscriber. I am now on my second monthly box subscription and want to share my newest box with you as well as a tip I learned....

If you need a run down on what Stitch Fix is, it is a monthly subscription box that delivers clothing to your front door, 5 pieces in each fix to be exact. All you have to do is

1. Sign up at Stitch Fix
2. Fill out your style profile
3. And wait for your first box to arrive
4. Try on the pieces and keep and send back what you didn't like
5. Check out online and fill out a brief questionairre so that they can improve your next fix.

There is a $20 styling fee associated with it, but that $20 will go towards your purchase out of the fix. If you keep all 5 items out of the fix then you get an extra 25% off.

I am not one to flaunt my turkey gobbler arms all over the place and that is exactly what this box felt like. Now, I don't have horrible arm fat or anything but just am not a fan of showing off my arms in the first place. In my style profile I listed that "sometimes I'll flaunt it", big mistake because I got three shirts out of 5 that were sleeveless. Decided I was not a big fan and changed my profile before the next box came out.

Now, this shirt is lovely. It's color-block. Who doesn't love a good color-block shirt. However, the arm thing and it was rather boxing looking on my small frame. I was also not diggin the price tag on this one. $58.00 for something that I felt like I could get in the juniors section at TJ Maxx for $12.99. Cute but not for me.

I almost pulled the trigger on this top. However, again, the fatty arms..blah blah blah. It would have been a perfect shirt for work with some black pants and then change into some skinny jeans later for happy hours that I no longer can partake in. However that is here nor there. For the price I just couldn't do it. Again $58.00.

This top screams Cheryl! It is perfect in every way including 3/4 sleeves, except for the length. It is too long on me. I am 5 foot nothing and it was too long. I don't normally tuck in shirts so it really didn't work on me. Plus, since this shirt is so me, I already have five of them hanging in my closet. I would have probably paid the $58.00 since it was "me" and seemed good quality.

This number was a cardigan type thing but it had the asymmetrical lining in the front. I hate the look of that on me. So needless to say. I hated this top and hated the price even more.

I like basic colors like black, white, navy. Ya know boring stuff, but I also like a pop of color. This shirt is sleeveless but it fit nicely and would look stunning with some white jeans or shorts. I made an exception to my arm fat rule and the high price tag for this one. It should hold up well through the gorgeous Florida days and I know I will get a lot of use out of it. So for $54.00 and the cheapest fix in my box I bought this top.

A few days after I sent my first box back with no buys I had instant regret. I should have bought the dress and that Loren Hope necklace. Since I didn't buy anything in my first Fix I figured the $20.00 styling fee would roll to the next month. It didn't. Lesson learned. It flat out says in the FA on their site but somehow I missed it. So, just so you are aware, IF YOU DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING, THE STYLING FEE DOES NOT ROLL OVER.

Also, Stitch Fix has rockin customer service. After my first post about my review of my first Fix, they emailed me about it thanking me and were ever so kind. Then, when I noticed that I had buyers regret I emailing them asking if I could buy one of their items. They got back to me in a timely manner and even better, with the answer I wanted to hear. Now, I just have to decide how mad my husband may be if I purchase that dress in my first box..hmmm.

Overall, this box was just OK. If I didn't have this weird thing with my arms than it probably would have been great. But I do. I have adjusted my style profile and can't wait to get my next box!

The Best Baby Paraphernalia

I am not a new mom. Nope, I'm a seasoned mom here. My oldest is three and a half and has whit and attitude seeping out his pores. Some days I feel like I got this mommy hood shit on lock down. And, some days I wonder how I do it all, questioning myself as a wife, worker and mom. But, I get through it and wake up the next morning ready to do it all over again.

As a second time new mom I defiantly feel more stressed. When other moms say two is easier than one, these people must be drunk. Its not true. Don't let people  bold face lie to you. But, I can let you in on three little secrets that have made this second time around the mommy hood block a whole hella lot easier. Enter my number one favorite new baby item.

The Baby Breeza.

Now, remember my first kid is only 3.5, that wasn't that long ago. 2010. Its not like it was decades ago. Where and why in the hell did they not invent this thing earlier. I guess they did. Its called a damn tea kettle. But they gotta make it more kid friendly looking and charge an extra $20 bucks to it. This thing is genius and works exactly like an electric tea kettle. Yes, I tried the breastfeeding thing, it didn't work out so well. I pumped, and well yada yada yada, all that info is for another post. This Baby Breeze keeps the water for the babies bottle at the perfect temperature at all times, around 93 degrees I think it is. No more bottle warmers needed. So take yours and throw the dang thing out. They are all ugly in the first place. At least the Baby Brezza is modern looking and if nothing else, it can be a conversation piece. Think, no more standing there staring at the bottle while its being warmed and your sweet face is screaming it's head off.

Rock N Play

This little piece of heaven is a mothers dream. It's light weight, snugly and your baby will sleep like a rock in it. Go buy one, now. The only draw back is that they will only last about 6 months. Once your baby starts rolling over it is suggested to stop using it. Makes sense you don't want the thing to fall over on them.

Swaddleme blankets!!!

I love, love, love these things. I am so in love with them that we are on our third set.  The other night I hopped onto Amazon to get some more, only to literally shed tears when I found out they don't make them in an XL. What the F. How is baby going to sleep without being swaddle so tightly that his guts are seeping out (I kid, I kid)?? He isn't. And that is a huge, ginormous problem. For who you ask? Me! I need my sleep. You can't take away a moms sleep who is now used to it. It's just not fair. Its not right. If there is no sweet cuddly newborn involved than I would like to take my sleep instead of my coffee IV. However, these are the best if your baby likes to be swaddled. Those A&A blankets are great but wont get a tight swaddle like the Swaddleme's.

So for all your second time moms, or people who are looking for sprinkle gifts, these are where its at!

So What

Life After I Dew- that we have our "group" family vacation planned and it's not near a beach, pool or any real water matter. We are going to my family's ranch with 3 other couples and their kids and im pretty excited about it. The kids have tons of room to run around, explore and the moms can watch them all from the wrap around porch while we sip on some sangria and wine. Now, that sounds like a nice relaxing vaca to me. Time to switch it up from the pool scene.

-that since I have been trying to eat healtheir that im totally craving Chick-Fil-A like woah! They have got to put some sort of addictive additives into their food because I can't get enough. I have an unhealthy relationship with Chick-Fil-A and their CFA sauce. And yes, I have two large containers (that you buy) in my pantry.

-if I was became upset this past weekend when I was packing up Colby's 3T clothing. 3T!! How is it that my boy is so good. And then, the thought of Austin being big enough to fit into his old clothing makes me even more sad.

-that I'm watching House of Cards and trying to get into it but just can't. Im on Season 1 Episode 3. When does it get better??!! I keep seeing all these Facebook posts about Season 2 and just want to get to the good part. Should I hang on and keep watching it?

-if I found myself googling ways to try and find anywhere to watch the rest of the Pretty Little Liars season. This whole Alli and A thing is just killing me! I dont do well with suspense and having to wait a week...anyone have the hook up on a good site?? Shhh it will be our secret.

***This weeks featured post from last week's hop:

Hi everyone. This is Chelsee. I have to say that I am continuously impressed with the amount of bloggers that linkup and the quality of posts that are linked up. It seems there are some very talented bloggers in blogland. Last week there was a particular post that caught my eye due to the name.

I have to say I was highly interested and impressed with the post that Hima Hearts linked up last week. I find that we all tend to be self-conscience with the foods we eat after the new year and try to reach goals of loosing weight that we set for ourselves. The issue I have is I often am super stressed and eat things that are not so great for me. When I saw the name of this post contained both the words chocolate and healthy I knew I had to check it out.  I have to say I was very shocked and impressed by what I found!

She found a way to make Chocolate Chip Cookie dough healthy. I am a lover of chocolate and cookie dough so I think if you are like me and a fan of these that you should try this out. I think it is a great recipe for those wanting to cut some of the bad ingredients out. I suggest that you head over and check out her blog!

Keep posting awesome content! You make it so fun for me to read all your posts! If you can, please link up a specific post. It makes it easier for us to come and visit!

*Remember YOU can be next weeks winner! :)
